Kayode Fabusiwa joined the firm as an Associate in July 2022 and is passionate about Corporate and Commercial Law practice, particularly Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Commercial/Civil Litigation and Real Estate. He obtained his LLB from the University of Ibadan (UI) in 2018 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 2021, after completing his professional training at the Nigerian Law School in 2021. He interned with several leading Nigerian law firms during his undergraduate years.His LLB Thesis at UI was on ‘Reformation and Restatement Policy of the Nigerian Customary Law’, where he analysed the codification of Nigerian customary law which has enjoyed judicial notice.
Kayode undertook his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) with the Yenagoa law firm, U. Saiyou & Co. where he was actively involved in litigation especially on real estate regulatory matters. He participated in various Yenagoa Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)’s mostly criminal pro bono cases. He was successful in many of the cases he handed from trial to judgment, such as The State v. Sanni Muhammad, Charge No. YHC 46C 2021.At LeLaw, he has been involved with tax litigation, rendering of advisory opinions on various commercial law issues, amongst other tasks. An ardent researcher, Kayode is poised to contribute his own quota to the Firm’s thought leadership efforts vide publication of solo and joint articles on topical commercial law issues.
