Deborah Abanum joined Le Law Barristers & Solicitors as an Associate in December2022. She has a flair for corporate and commercial law, real estate tax law and civil/commercial litigation.Deborah acquired her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with Second Class Upper Honours from Delta State University, Abraka. Her LLB thesis was on ‘The Law on Medical Negligence in Nigeria and Britain: A Comparative Analysis’. She went on to the Nigerian Law School for her professional training at the Lagos Campus in 2019, and having passed the Bar Final Examinations with Second Class Honours, she was called to the Nigerian Bar in November 2019.
As an undergraduate she interned with F. O. Akinrele & Co. where she was exposed to the intricacies of litigation. She undertook her one year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ilorin, Kwara State with the litigation firm of Sunday Olawepo & C0. After a brief stint as a freelance lawyer, litigation boutique firm, The Advoxa as an Associate from where she joined LeLaw Barristers & Solicitors.As a writer/poet, Deborah was a three time award winner of the Law Students Association of Nigeria (Delta State University Chapter). She spends her spare time writing poems and painting. Her other hobbies include reading and listening to music.
